NYC Microcollege Writing Session Sign-up Form

There are two Bard Microcolleges in New York City: one in Brooklyn, and one in Harlem. Learn more about both Microcolleges at microcollege.bard.edu.

To apply to a Bard Microcollege, begin by signing up for an in-person writing session. Some sessions are held at the Brooklyn Microcollege (10 Grand Army Plaza), some at the Harlem Microcollege (343 Malcolm X Boulevard), and some at the Bard Prison Initiative offices in Midtown Manhattan (213 West 35th Street). You can apply to either the Brooklyn Microcollege or the Harlem Microcollege at any of the three locations.

Writing sessions are scheduled between March 1 and April 14, 2023, on various days and at various times of day.

At the writing session, you’ll be given three prompts, and asked to write an open response to just one. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions about the Microcolleges. You should plan to spend 1 to 2 hours on this part of the process.

If you’re a finalist, you’ll be contacted for an interview via Zoom.
